I am seeking carpet tile for reuse
Want to find used carpet tiles (also known as carpet squares)? They can be purchased on sites likes eBay and Craigslist. The following outlets often have used carpet and/or carpet tiles for sale at a very reasonable cost. Please check with the stores for current inventory and opening days/times before visiting.

Reuse Guidelines
CARE supports reuse by providing subsidies to approved collector/sorter entrepreneurs. CARE’s Reuse Guidelines include suggested grading levels and definitions :
Grade A+ New (never used – overstock, attic stock, close-out)
Grade A Shows some wear, very good looking, or possibly cleaned.
Grade B Carpet shows some wear, may require light cleaning
Grade C Shows obvious wear, some soiling and/or staining, likely requires cleaning – probably not for a home use, best likely used in sheds, garages, etc.
I have carpet for reuse
Reuse it around the house – Old carpet, especially carpet tiles, is useful in laundry rooms, garages, pet pens and other areas. Use carpet squares as pads to prevent furniture from sliding.
Donate it – Your discarded carpet in good condition could be someone else’s treasure. Contact local thrift stores or community groups.
Give it away –List your old carpet with a service like Freecycle or Nextdoor and help your neighbor.
Recycle it! Ask your floor covering installer or retailer to help you get the carpet to a drop-off site, where the carpet will be collected and made into useful new products.
I have a comment about carpet tile received from a CARE collection facility.
If you are a CARE partner and have received carpet tile for reuse from a CARE collection facility (DoS, CSE, etc.) please provide feedback on any quality or performance concerns. CARE will share your feedback with stakeholders to help improve the program. To submit your feedback, email Feedback@CarpetRecovery.org.
