We’re excited to welcome Mike Tinney of Tinney Associates to our list of expert partners! Mike is a business development consultant specializing in sustainable products, market analysis, market plan development and sales.
With expertise in post-consumer recycled content (PCRC) product development, placement and procurement, Mike joined CARE’s California Carpet Stewardship Program team this summer to provide the following market development services as part of a broader Marketing, Education and Outreach strategy:
- Development of new recycled carpet content products
- Promotion and product placement of existing recycled carpet content products
- Coordination with state agencies CalRecycle, Department of General Services and CalTrans to facilitate increased procurement opportunities for new and existing recycled carpet content materials
Mike has garnered plenty of industry experience, recently working six years under contract with CalRecycle to provide business assistance to California companies manufacturing and marketing products from recycled tires. Prior to that project, he was contracted to the California Integrated Waste Management Board, now CalRecycle, in the RMDZ program to provide business assistance to California companies manufacturing/marketing products from a variety of recycled materials. Mike performed the same services for the California Energy Commissions Public Interest Energy Research (PIER) program.
Before founding Tinney Associates, Mike was Executive Vice President of the US division of an international steel company, manufacturing steel components for commercial construction. His background is sales and marketing with a business administration degree from the University of Puget Sound. Mike and his wife Bonnie live in Sacramento and have three children and four grandchildren.
Please join us in welcoming Mike to the CARE team!
