Dalton, GA (April 17, 2012) – Carpet America Recovery Effort (CARE), a non-profit organization dedicated to finding market based solutions to landfill diversion of post consumer carpet, is seeking a proven leader to serve as Executive Director (ED). The ED is responsible for day-to-day management of CARE, assisted by a small support staff, and oversees implementation of CARE’s strategic mission – to include work plans, budget preparation and adherence, annual report, quarterly Board reports, annual and semi-annual conferences, committee activities, and interface with industry and non-industry partners.
The ED will have responsibility to facilitate the Board’s annual development of mid and long-term strategic visioning. ED must be able to work with a variety of stakeholders, which include entrepreneurs, carpet industry, state agencies and the Federal EPA. Selected individual must have a strong background in public policy, including extensive experience in issue campaigns, government relations, and political processes. The ED’s ability to successfully communicate key issues to a variety of forums, stakeholders, media, people and organizations; as well as to enhance the value of CARE, coupled with fundraising experience will be crucial.
The ED must also:
- Be results-oriented, with demonstrated capacity to implement effective, performance-based management.
- Maintain an entrepreneurial spirit that can recognize targets of opportunity and revise/adapt CARE’s work plans accordingly
- Reflect environmentally responsible values.
A bachelor degree is a must with an advanced degree desired. The salary range for this position is $125,000-$150,000, with a very competitive benefit package that includes Medical, Dental, Life and a 401k Plan. The preferred location for this position is in Dalton GA., however flexibility will be exercised if relocation is not possible. In the event of relocation, a relocation compensation package will be available.
