Dalton, GA – (January 18, 2008) – The EPA/CARE Award was established to recognize innovation as it relates to any aspect of carpet recycling. As a relatively new undertaking, innovation is extremely important to the advancement and success of the Carpet Recycling Industry. For this reason, the EPA and CARE have chosen to honor the organization, team or individual that has pursued and demonstrated innovative solutions or processes that have positively impacted carpet recycling. This award will be presented for the first time in May of 2008 at CARE’s 6th Annual Conference in Clearwater Beach, FL.
Innovations in Carpet Recycling Award Eligibility
- Nominations may be submitted for any innovation related to carpet recycling
- Post-consumer carpet must represent 10% of product’s total recycled pounds
- Work must have been done within the United States
Innovations in Carpet Recycling Award Criteria
- Work must involve the recycle and/or reuse of post-consumer carpet
- Nominees may be organizations, teams or individuals
- Work must have been done within the United States
- Post-consumer carpet used must be derived from the United States
- Concept must be demonstrated commercially within the previous 24 months
- Concept must be capable of substantial impact to landfill diversion of post-consumer carpet
- All products or processes which use PCC are eligible
