Recently released results for Q4 2020 indicate that recovery is underway for carpet recycling in California, which reached a recycling rate of 23.2% – a new high-water mark. This can be attributed in part to the ongoing recovery in the residential sector.
Since the fall of 2019, the California program has focused on expanding collections. While COVID-19 impacted the rate of success CARE currently has ten initiatives underway addressing the growth in collections. In addition, a number of additional ideas/approaches are under discussion, including a newly enhanced subsidy for tile reuse and recycling.
